# Engineer Intern

> Intern with Henry Labs in NYC and help build the future of agentic commerce

* 📍 **Location: New York City (in-person)**
* 💼 **Years of experience: 0+ (current students and recent grads welcome)**
* 🛠️ **Skills: TypeScript, Bun, Postgres, Playwright, SDKs, API design, React**

## About Henry Labs

We're building the **operating system for agentic commerce**: the layer that turns a user's intent to buy into a completed order on any merchant site.

We enable a **true universal cart** and **one-click checkout anywhere on the Internet** - so users can add items from multiple merchants in one place and buy seamlessly, without bouncing through different tabs, logins, and carts.

Platforms like Pinterest, Instagram, TikTok, and AI chatbots/shopping experiences already handle product discovery. What's missing is reliably executing checkout across thousands of ecommerce sites without direct integrations.

That's where we come in. Our agent **executes checkout on behalf of users**, then returns order confirmation back to the app.

Imagine being able to **buy an entire outfit you see on Pinterest in one click** - sizes, colors, shipping, and payment handled instantly - without bouncing through 6 different sites and carts.

That's just one example of what we enable. Companies use us to embed shopping natively so that users can **buy what they want, the moment they discover it**.

If you're excited about building agents and infrastructure that **revolutionizes how the world buys online**, we'd love to talk!

## About the role

As an **Engineer Intern** at Henry Labs, you'll work directly with our founding team on the core systems that power our AI agent platform. You'll ship real code to production, own meaningful projects, and have a direct impact on how the product evolves - while growing fast as an engineer alongside a high-velocity team that's building something legitimately new.

## What you'll do

* Build and ship features across our **product, developer tools, and APIs**
* Work on **browser automation, agent infrastructure, and checkout reliability**
* Pair directly with founders and senior engineers on hard problems
* Contribute to a fast-moving codebase where your work reaches customers in days, not quarters

## What we're looking for

More than any specific background, we care about how you think and operate. If the traits below sound like you, you'll fit in well here:

* **Willing to learn, low ego:** you take feedback without getting defensive, hold your views lightly, and can point to times you reversed course or were plain wrong
* **Intellectually curious:** you light up at novel problems, dig into unglamorous ones, and have real interests and depth outside of pure work
* **Owns the outcome:** you proactively pick up problems, drive them end to end to a high standard without needing to be managed, and when something breaks - even if it isn't your fault - you take responsibility and act rather than externalizing it
* **Competitive and driven:** you set a high personal bar and are energized - not drained - by the pace and intensity of an early-stage startup

On the technical side:

* Experience with - or willingness to learn - **TypeScript, React, browser automation, and modern web stacks**
* Bonus: interest or experience in **fintech, payments, e-commerce, AI agents, or developer tools**

## What you can expect at Henry Labs

* Direct mentorship from founders and senior engineers
* Real ownership over meaningful projects
* A path to a full-time offer for standout interns
* Relocation assistance for the duration of the internship
